StruXure makes motorized aluminum pergolas with rotating louvers that open for sun and close to block rain. Systems are sold and installed through local dealers and are custom-sized, so the company states that a single purchase price can't be given; every price depends on a measured site visit. Below are the market ranges reported by cost guides and dealers, what drives the price up, and how StruXure compares with other louvered and traditional pergolas. For a basic wood, vinyl or aluminum kit, see our pergola installation cost guide.

What affects the price

  • Model and size. Size is the main driver: at reported rates of $150–$200 per sq. ft., a 10x10 runs about $15,000–$20,000 and a 20x20 about $60,000–$80,000. StruXure's Pergola X line includes several louver options (Pivot 6, Pivot 6 Slide, Pan 6 and others), and the modular Cabana X is positioned as a lower-priced starting point; the company does not publish model prices.
  • Automation features. Every add-on raises the price. Market prices for comparable louvered systems include rain or wind sensors at about $125–$200, ceiling fans $150–$500 each, light fixtures $80–$300 each, heaters $150–$2,000 and misting systems $500–$2,000. Smart, app-controlled systems sit at the top of the louvered range.
  • Installation and foundations. Dealer installation typically adds about $5,000–$8,000. The posts must be anchored to adequate concrete footings or a slab; if your patio doesn't qualify, new concrete or a deck base can cost $600–$4,300 or more, and the motor needs an outdoor circuit or outlet ($150–$350).
  • Permits. Most jurisdictions treat a louvered pergola as a permanent structure. Permits typically run about $60–$500, and some towns exempt structures under 200 sq. ft. Ask the dealer whether permit fees and engineering drawings are included.

Ways to save

  • Get quotes from at least two StruXure dealers and from one or two other louvered pergola brands; reported market rates for motorized louvered systems start around $55 per sq. ft., well below StruXure's reported range.
  • Size the pergola to the area you actually use; each square foot adds roughly $150–$200 at reported rates.
  • Add accessories selectively. A rain sensor is inexpensive and protects furniture, while screens, heaters and audio can be added later.
  • Install over an existing slab or deck that meets the dealer's footing requirements to avoid new concrete work.
  • Ask about off-season pricing and dealer promotions; StruXure itself doesn't advertise fixed prices, so dealer discounts vary by market.

How to get an accurate quote

Because StruXure prices only through local dealers after a site visit, ask at least two dealers (plus a competing brand) for written quotes. Share:

  • The exact footprint you want covered and the surface underneath (concrete patio, deck, pavers or grass).
  • The model or louver type you're considering and whether you want the roof to rotate, slide or both.
  • The add-ons you want priced separately: rain sensor, lighting, screens, fans, heaters and app control.
  • Ask what's included: footings, electrical work, permits, engineering, color choice and the length of the structural, finish and motor warranties.

FAQ

Why is StruXure more expensive than other pergolas?

StruXure systems are custom-sized, powder-coated aluminum structures with motorized rotating louvers, sold through dealers who handle installation. Reported prices of $150–$200 per sq. ft. compare with $10–$65 for traditional pergolas and about $55–$125 for many other motorized louvered systems.

Does StruXure publish its prices?

No. The company states that its pergolas are custom-made, so it can't provide a single price; you get a quote from a local dealer after measuring. The ranges on this page come from cost guides and dealer-reported projects, not from StruXure.

Is a StruXure pergola worth it?

It depends on how much you value adjustable shade and rain protection. A louvered roof makes an outdoor space usable in more weather than an open pergola, but the same footprint as a basic kit costs several times more. Compare the total with a patio enclosure if year-round use is your goal.

Safety noteTree work, pesticide application and heavy digging can be dangerous. Hire licensed, insured professionals and check local rules and permits. This page covers prices only.
