Termite Treatment Cost Calculator

This calculator estimates termite treatment from the home size and treatment type.

Enter the length of your home's foundation perimeter in linear feet, pick a treatment type and the severity of the problem, and adjust for where you live. The result is a price range based on published 2026 cost-guide data, not a quote.

Not sure of your perimeter? Add up the length of each exterior wall; a simple 1,500 sq. ft. single-story rectangle has roughly 160 linear feet. For full price tables and method comparisons, read our termite treatment cost guide, or see termite prevention costs if you don't have active termites yet.

Typical results

For reference, typical totals reported in 2026:

ScenarioTypical rangeNotes
Small or localized infestation$250–$1,200Spot treatment or partial perimeter
Typical home: liquid barrier or bait system$450–$2,000National average about $620–$680
Severe infestation or tenting$2,000–$8,000Drywood termites or whole-structure treatment

What goes into the estimate

  • Linear feet around the home. Liquid barriers and bait systems are priced by the length of the foundation perimeter, so a 200-foot perimeter costs about a third more than a 150-foot one. Patios, driveways and additions that touch the house can add drilling time.
  • Treatment type. Liquid termiticide runs about $4–$14.50 per linear foot and bait systems $8–$12 per linear foot, while spot treatment ($350–$1,000), heat ($2,000–$6,000) and tenting ($2,000–$8,000) are quoted per job.
  • Severity. Larger colonies need more product, more drilling and more follow-up visits. The severity multipliers (×1.15 and ×1.3) are WhatHomeCosts estimates; published severity ranges run from about $250–$1,200 for small infestations to $1,200–$3,000 for large ones.
  • Region. Labor rates and termite pressure vary across the US, with warm southern states facing drywood and Formosan termites. The calculator applies a factor from 0.85 (lower-cost rural areas) to 1.35 (the most expensive metros).

How we built the ranges

Unit prices come from published cost guides checked in October 2026: liquid-barrier, bait and minimum-job prices from Fixr's termite treatment cost guide (updated January 2025), heat and tenting whole-job prices and bait monitoring from HomeGuide (2026), spot treatment from This Old House (updated June 2026), and damage-repair and typical totals from Angi and HomeAdvisor (2026). The severity and regional multipliers are WhatHomeCosts estimates that reflect typical cost differences.

The calculator does not include structural repairs beyond basic wood or drywall fixes, moisture or drainage corrections, long-term bonds ($500–$2,000 a year) or real estate inspection reports. Real prices depend on an on-site inspection, the termite species and the method the licensed applicator recommends.

FAQ

How do I measure linear feet around my house?

Measure the length of each exterior wall at the foundation and add them together. Include attached garages and additions that sit on the same foundation, since they're part of the treated perimeter.

Is the calculator result a quote?

No. It's a rough range to help you budget and to check whether quotes are reasonable. Get at least three written quotes from licensed termite companies after an inspection.

Which treatment should I choose?

Subterranean termites are usually treated with a liquid barrier or bait system, while drywood termites may need spot treatment or tenting. A licensed inspector should identify the species before you choose.
