Concrete Driveway Cost Calculator

This calculator estimates a concrete driveway from the size and thickness.

Use this driveway concrete cost calculator to estimate what a new poured driveway will cost. Enter the area in square feet (length × width), pick a finish and slab thickness, add extras like tear-out of an old driveway, and choose where you live. You'll get a price range based on published 2026 cost data, not a quote.

A typical 400–576 sq. ft. two-car driveway with a broom finish lands around $3,200–$8,600. For full price tables, a cost breakdown and ways to save, read our concrete driveway cost guide, or compare with the asphalt driveway cost calculator.

What goes into the estimate

  • Area. Measure the length and width of the driveway in feet and multiply them. Add the apron and any turnaround or parking pad. Area is the biggest driver of cost.
  • Thickness. Four inches is standard for passenger cars. The calculator adds about 25% for a 6-inch slab and about 50% for 8 inches, reflecting the extra concrete, excavation and reinforcement.
  • Finish. Prices per sq. ft. come from Angi's 2026 finish data: plain $6–$8, broom, exposed aggregate or colored $8–$12, stamped $12–$18, and stained or saw-cut $18–$20.
  • Region. Labor and material prices vary across the US. The region selector applies a factor from 0.85 (lower-cost rural areas) to 1.35 (the most expensive metros).

How we built the ranges

Prices per sq. ft. by finish come from Angi's concrete driveway cost guide (updated April 2026), and cover materials and labor. Angi notes that its overall project totals can include removing existing concrete, so the tear-out extra may overlap with some quotes; use it as an upper-bound check. Thickness adjustments (+25% for 6 inches, +50% for 8 inches) follow LawnStarter (updated December 2025) and HomeAdvisor's concrete driveway guide. Extras use LawnStarter's figures for tear-out ($1,500–$2,500) and grading ($100–$3,400), Angi's apron range ($1,530–$4,320) and permit range ($50–$200), and reinforcement at $1–$3 per sq. ft. applied to a 500 sq. ft. driveway. The regional factors are WhatHomeCosts estimates. Base prices checked October 2026.

The calculator does not include heated driveway systems, drainage work such as culverts, retaining walls, tree removal, or repairs to landscaping after the pour. Very small jobs may hit a contractor's minimum charge, and steep, curved or very long driveways can cost more than the result shows. Get at least three written quotes based on a site visit.

FAQ

How much concrete do I need for a driveway?

Multiply the area in sq. ft. by the thickness in feet (4 inches = 0.333 ft) and divide by 27 to get cubic yards. A 576 sq. ft. driveway at 4 inches needs about 7 cubic yards; ready-mix concrete costs about $120–$170 per cubic yard before labor.

Is the calculator result a quote?

No. It's a budgeting range based on national averages. Your actual price depends on soil, access, local labor rates and the contractor, so compare at least three written quotes.
